Subjective question regarding mixing RAM

So, I have 16Gb's of Corsair RGB sticks, 2x8. In your guys' personal opinion, does mixing other RAM make a build look aesthetically less pleasing? My 2 Corsair sticks would be synced together via Link software, While the other two sticks would not be, or even if they are I don't think they would match the same hue as the Corsair sticks. 

 

I only ask because I see a ton of good sales on different websites for RAM atm.

mixing ram isn't recommended because it really doesnt take much to make your system unstable when it comes to ram specs...

Is there not the same kit you have available? I personally could never mix RAM nevermind if it was a different color or from a different manufacturer haha, but that's just me.

The prices I'm looking at were a bit too tempting I must admit.

Yeah, just the few kits I was eye-balling were 50-60bucks cheaper than my current kit.

It's so hit and miss. I never recommend it because the one time I tried mixing RAM it did not go well. Even though it was the same spec RAM from the same manufacturer my system stability took a hit, even when I ran at stock mem speeds I would still crash every once and a while. Some people have no issue though.

Honestly, I can't tell you not to just because I had a bad experience, or because I wouldn't like the look. If it feels like a good deal then it is your choice but just be aware that it is not entirely risk-free.

indeed sometimes even buying the same kit again and it might cause issues...it depends...technically they can have the same specs or even different specs and you can tune it and manage to make it work fine...but sometimes from manufacturer to manufacturer things change just a little and it comes a shit show really fast.

Some photo editing, video editing, AutoCad drawings. Of course with a video or some streaming source going on

Yeah and that's why I prefer just getting a whole new kit, I am working on important projects and I literally cannot afford to crash because of memory issue related to 'incompatible' parts. I make half of my living off my computers so my justification to not risk is probably more than most people but regardless of the circumstances getting the blue screen is never fun for anyone.

if you can find a kit from corsair that has exactly the same specs (all the timings are the same, same voltage, same frequency...same everything) but maybe without the led at a significant discount i would try it but other than that yeah spend a bit more to get another of the same kit you already own.

Yeah then might as well upgrade your RAM, I often hit my 16GB cap easily but my main system with 32Gb has never been an issue for me.

Yeah, I can't get a high refresh rate UW. The 34" options are going to cost me over $700cad as is.
