WinTV Card on Windows 10?

DrAwesome821

Is there a way to get my old Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1250 working on Windows 10? I want to use it to capture composite video off my Gamecube.

you need two things:

1. drivers that work

2. An app that works that does what you want

finding those is usually the hard part.. especially with old uncommon stuff like that.

Why don't you just install win xp on top of win 10 in a VM.

For Drivers http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_hvr1250.html

Driver last Updated: 08/24/2017

As for Applications that allow that, Does Obs work or cyberlink (Forgot the program name.)?

Thanks! I'll try it as soon as I go dig up my card.

I doubt it would work that way.

Why not?

Capturing from usb just need usb pass through, which is supported on most VM.

You can still use the XP driver with all of its functionality.

If you expect xp driver to work in win 10, it won't...

Might want to upgrade it:

http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/webstore2/webstore_quadhd.html

Hauppauge has new software that works with Windows 10 called WinTV v8 but I don't think it supports that old of a tuner.

You could always see if you can contact their support team to see if it'd be compatible though.
