Resolution in the game is not optimal in 3840x1080

Hello everyone, I just played NFS Payback from the origin
with specifications: 
-ROG Strix 1080Ti 
-Samsung Monitor CHG90 (49", 32:9 , 3840x1080)

 

The problem is the resolution is not optimal, if I play at the highest resolution (3840 x 1080), the image will be truncated, and not fit.
But if I play the lowest resolution (1024x768), then all the images will be visible 

 

 

and the following screenshot in the game

 

 

and this problem only occurs with NFS payback, because in other games, if I play at a resolution of 3840x1080, the image will look all and widen

 

for comparison in the Forza Horizon 3, 3840x1080 looks so perfect and wide

I don't think there's any thing to do here, you're facing probably a game engine issue with the mega-ultrawide ratio.

It quite a rare resolution, not every game will support it.

Well you could still force 2560x1080p stretched.

I have the same monitor, that's how it should look, you may lose something vertically or height-wise, but gain so much horizontally. The game engine's designed that way, and as some had said, support for this res is still in its infancy. Just enjoy that super wide perspective, I sure as hell do!

He doesn't gain anything though, that's the problem. Compare the second set of screenshots from NFS Payback - he is losing vertically a lot but the palm tree on the left and the car on the right are still at the edge.

That's the game engine that basically sorta crop the image to fit the 32:9 format. The last three screenshots best exemplify what 32:9 should look like when it works properly.

Yeah well the last three are from a different game and thus not a problem for the OP, he only included them for reference how he thinks the first game should look like (and is right about that).

 

Anyway, it seems that NFS doesn't have good ultrawide support and you can't do anything about it (unless someone mods the game) - to be fair, what you lose in visibilty, you gain in immersion because that ultrawide is closer to how it should look like if you were the one driving the car (as close as it can get in 3rd person view anyway).

The game does support 21:9 reason why I suggested 2560x1080p streched, it only derps on 32:9

That is a very odd resolution.  I think 1440p and injected 32x AA and FXAA is what I recommend.
