RTX 2080 1080p, 1440p gaming

I'm trying to see if the rtx 2080 is good for 1080p gaming cause i have a 1080p monitor as of now. I'm planing of upgrading my gaming monitor soon to a 2k monitor 144hz 1ms response. Just asking if it preforms well in 1080p and 1440p.

The RTX 2080 is totally overkill for 1080p gaming. If you plan on upgrading to 1440p then it'll be a good card for 144 Hz refresh rate. If you're going with 1440p 60 Hz I'd save some money and get a 2070/1080 (though both of those can do 144Hz also).

2080 oc will do 1440p/144 on some games, not all AAA titles, just make sure your cpu bottlenecks it as little as possible
