Really considering this if the wife will let me lol.

Anyone have a clue as to why these prices are dropping so rapidly, and will it be a continuous thing? @Spotty @Dissitesuxba11s

I think V-NAND yields are really high and are going to keep increasing thus lowering SSD prices. And it looks like they will not be affected by any new US tariffs. Gamers Nexus reported that it can get lower by 2019, timestamped video below.

There's been discussions for the last few months that there will be a drop in SSD prices, so expect these price drops to stick around for a while at least.

Well than I don't know if I'll be pulling the trigger on the 970 just yet if they continue to drop at their current rate.. The current trend has them plummeting every 40-ish days or so.

Just my speculation, but I think it will stay at this price or even go lower. Only buy now if you are ready to build, if not I would wait and just watch the market, maybe put a price alert on PC Part Picker to notify you or changes.

It's supposed to drop significantly in 2019; I've suggested my friend wait to buy his SSDs until then.

I bought it last March when it was on sale. Didn't really predict that it would drop so drastically. Oh well.

There was a 15% sitewide coupon for newegg to bring this under $200. That's about the best we can expect for this kind of model/performance I think, but crucial and intel will probably have some alright upcoming deals.

Ah that's not a few months ago, that's ages ago. No need for buyers remorse on something that old.

The remorse is mainly on the fact that it was an impulse buy, and I didn't really need the 1TB (I still don't). But oh well. I'm not really looking for m.2 drives anyway since 2.5" drives can be used in more applications especially as a laptop upgrade.
