what thermal paste for cpus

Captain_Darkness

Anything that isnt too cheap, the key is a good application not the quality of the paste. I used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. The applicator is great and easy to use.

This is great paste. If you by a Noctua cooler you get a tube for free.

I personally use Arctic MX-4 with my i5-8600K, I previously used to use Arctic Silver 5, but the MX-4 is my new compound due to the way it's able to transfer heat quicker, at least from my experience.

A 4g tube of Arctic MX-4 is £4.96 on Amazon here in the UK, although if you buy an Arctic cooler, you get a 1g sachet for free included with the cooler.

Whatever comes on the heatsink/coldplate pre applied is usually best long term. Itll be Dow Corning, 3M or Shin Etsu or something good, and just the right amount too.

Another vote for MX-4. Reasonably priced, good availability, and good quality. Noctua is good too. Gelid makes a good paste as well. It really doesn't matter what brand you buy as long as it is not garbage.

It's fine, don't worry about it unless you really need to knock 3 degrees off

The ryzen stock cooler is great, don't worry about getting that either unless you really have a problem

It's an alright fan. What case are you using and where are you planning to use the fan?

Are you looking for better alternatives?
