Gtx 1050ti vs PS4 ?

A PC with a 1050Ti will be able to run most games at least at medium settings, PC gaming is better than console in a lot of ways and is better to play FPS games on but it all comes down to who you want to play with and what platforms they're on.

console get obselete because microsoft/sony/nintendo says they want to sell new machines, and you cant play new games with old hardware

PC gets obsolete because you arent satisfied with it. They can run much newer games, albeit with much lower graphics settings

Get both.

This is what I did. Except that I don't own a 1050ti but a 970. You get best of both worlds, console exclusives and better graphics and framerate. <3

  • The choice factor, from hardware choices to how you want to play it.
  • Mods that can change a game completely
  • Backwards compatibility
  • Large range of marketplaces
  • Regular discounts on games, most famously being Steam Sales
  • Going beyond 60FPS if your hardware is capable of doing so.
  • It's a personal computer, so it can also do PC things so it's not limited just for games and media.
  • The choice of control types from controllers to a keyboard + mouse
  • No online subscription needed

There are way more but these are the hallmarks of PC gaming. Really though, it's defined by its choice factor.

The Workhorse (AMD-powered custom desktop)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | GPU: MSI X Trio GeForce RTX 2070S | RAM: XPG Spectrix D60G 32GB DDR4-3200 | Storage: 512GB XPG SX8200P + 2TB 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda Compute | OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

The Portable Workstation (Apple MacBook Pro 16" 2021)

SoC: Apple M1 Max (8+2 core CPU w/ 32-core GPU) | RAM: 32GB unified LPDDR5 | Storage: 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD | OS: macOS Monterey

The Communicator (Apple iPhone 13 Pro)

SoC: Apple A15 Bionic | RAM: 6GB LPDDR4X | Storage: 128GB internal w/ NVMe controller | Display: 6.1" 2532x1170 "Super Retina XDR" OLED with VRR at up to 120Hz | OS: iOS 15.1

Or get a switch and play the games on the go? :D Doom in bed, Hollow Knight before your doctors appointment, and maybe a few minutes of Cities Skylines as you preheat the oven.

Which one to buy ?

pc with 1050 ti or ps4 ?

PC if you want pretty much everything gaming has to offer.

PS4 if you want to play God of War.

It's that simple.

Spiderman games are a dime a dozen on PC.

Oh and if you do go PS4, don't expect to go above 60 fps. Hell, don't expect to go above 30 fps in 4k in most games.

Do yourself a favor and go PC. You have ZERO regrets going PC.

Plus you don't have to buy a new console every few years. Just sell your used parts for new ones.

I recently sold a 1060 3GB for $200 and obtained a 1070 for $150.

Would personally recommend the PC. More flexibility, better upgrade-ability etc etc, you know the arguments.

Go for the PC option. Future upgradability and also you can just do more with a PC.

The only reason I'm here is that I have homework that I don't want to do

- consoles can't run old games

- you have to pay a subscription to be able to play online

- games on consoles are generally more expensive

- you can't really use kb+mouse on console

- you gotta shell out 50 bucks for an extra controller if you want your little brother to play with you, whereas on PC you can literally get two 3rd party controllers for the price of a single PS4 controller

- you can't upgrade console

- a whole bunch of genres such as RTS, CRPG, MOBA, MMORPG, etc. are unavailable on consoles

- you can pirate games on PC to get them for free (but none of us would ever do that, of course)

- PC offers a whole bunch of other entertainment such as watching movies, TV series, porn, etc.

- PC can be used for productivity

Unless you really love 3rd person cutscene simulators like Uncharted, Last of Us, and God of War, or you're really into FIFA, PES, Gran Turismo, and others sports games, I don't really see what consoles offer that PC doesn't.

The way I see it, a PS4 ends up being more expensive in the long run than a decent PC due to more expensive games & the ridiculous online play subscription.

Ryzen 1600x @4GHz

Asus GTX 1070 8GB @1900MHz

16 GB HyperX DDR4 @3000MHz

Asus Prime X370 Pro

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

Noctua NH-U14S

Seasonic M12II 620W

+ four different mechanical drives.

Why don’t you do me a favor and make a PowerPoint presentation on your console then write your history essay on it?

Imo, PC is better because it can Game & do practical work too.

Everything else than gaming.

Examples :

  • Productivity - Writing a document - Making videos personal or for online purposes..
  • Mass storing files - think of all of the above, a modded console could do it but not access them.
  • Tinkering - You can try things, Windows allows you to change everything about itself.
  • Free online connection/voice chat and gaming.

What you do miss out on and why I personally have both console & PC is the exclusive titles.

Outside of that friends, especially a more casual gamer often has a console

If you want to play with choosing them their platform of choice will help; or convincing them to get a PC/Laptop that can game.

hate the console or PC argument.

There is no clear winner, since like always it depends on your needs.

Some people are perfectly happy with an old laptop to do their productivity/school work with a PS4/XBOX ONE to game & have a great time on.

Objectively speaking a PC is a lot more capable, both in power & versatility; some just don't care for it and the extra headaches it can bring along.

I hope this answered your question somewhat ;)

Sidenote:

From what I remember the 1050Ti 4GB beats the PS4 Pro by a small margin depending on the title & settings selected.

Making it better then a bonestock PS4.

When the PC is acting up haunted,

who ya gonna call?

What do you want to play more? As stated previously, it depends on what games you play or where your friends play.

I personally would recommend the PC because of the versatility and wider range of options and upgrades. You could use a controller with games you want to use it with, you can get more RAM and a better graphics card when your current set up starts to struggle.

If you get a console, you are locked into the hardware for good. No upgrades, you just have to buy a new machine.

You won't have a gtreat experience with either one unless you can game on PC at 720 or 900p.

At least with the PS4 you get games made to accommodate the hardware.

Mind you, neither one will be relevant for long. You'll probably need to upgrade again in a year or two at most.
