depends...if you placed order on 2080ti and money is not an issue at all and you simply want the best card ever, then yeah take it.

If you placed order on RTX 2080 and money is somewhat of a concern, cancel it and grab a slightly used or a deal on 1080ti instead because it's a little bit faster and very likely a lot cheaper.

tpu summary on many games here

looks like 2080 about 10% ahead and thats not included the features to get later

but is it?

Not when you compare with something that does not have an aweful blower cooler on it and trottling core clocks...here, paul's hardware tested with the Asus Strix 1080ti instead, and even without overclocking it's noticeably faster than the RTX 2080

apples to oranges comparison

strix vs fe? what?

anyone else get those numbers or just pauls? nvm looks like couple others are trading blows but when the 2080 wins in some it just nails the win which prolly leads to that 10%

NO, open air cooler vs open air cooler...

the 2080FE has a nice cooler...so test against a 1080ti with a nice cooler...

..and no, some other outlets who didsnt used a shit blower 1080ti also have similar results...here's another one...also, this one is using a gigabyte winforce RTX 2080 OC so this is even more fair you might say:

you better read at reviews of outlets who followed Nvidia's reviewers guide and used blower 1080ti cards at nvidia specified settings and resolutions... and buy like a blindosaure...i can respect that...major corporations make their money from people like you son.

This arcticle you've linked...they don't even tell you what GTX 1080ti they used for testing...nothing about the core clocks or anything...

With those parameters in mind, how hard do you think it is to grab the new cards, and completely botch a review to make them look better than what they are?

lol no cuz video reviews suck

I cant easily compare side by side numbers

like what drivers were used test systems

i can go on

and comparing 3rd party to fe is apple to oranges

different boosts different chamber cooling different fan speeds vbios too

stock vs stock would be apples to apples even if nvidia changed their cooler design to open air

Canceled 2080 ti after seeing real world data - and picked up a 2080 for 10% off thanks to best buy birthday program. Feel like going with a 1080ti > 2080 for same price (compared to strix 1080ti) is a step in the wrong direction. When DLSS is released then 2080 delta on 1080ti will become greater.

read this again, and tell me it makes sense.

Also, video reviews they do always mention test systems, drivers, settings etc.

nvidia design vs nvidia design

if you going to compare 3rd party you should compare to another 3rd party plan and simple

tpu does have reviews of 3rd party also

which is what i did when i linked the Gigabyte Winforce OC RTX 2080 VS GTX 1080ti in the tech yes city video...check a couple post above and see...if you take a ''non throtling'' GTX 1080ti it's faster than a 2080 :)

It's only 10% ahead because they're comparing it to the reference 1080 Ti with its crap blower cooler. When Gamers Nexus tested the 2080 FE against a similar dual fan EVGA 1080 Ti they were pretty much the same.

The GTX 2080 has to be one of the most shit cards I have ever seen. I don't know why the reviewers don't just trash this thing unmercifully when it has the same performance as the 1080 Ti that I could have bought a year and a half ago for $100 less and had 3GB more VRAM on top of everything. I like when Steve from Gamers Nexus said he can't benchmark promises since there are no games supporting RT right now.

What are yall going to do?

keeping my 2080 ti pre-order, it does what i'll need it to do.

The 2080 is awful in a couple of reviews though, and even with the 1080 ti at best, explains why it's in stock.

exactly...i even forgot about the extra VRAM...wow...

i paid 700$CAD (roughly 500USD) last friday for a MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X TRIO (top of the line 1080ti) that was bought on july 8th 2018 for 1144.98$CAD i have the receipt the card was in the box with everything that came with it it's like new i even got to peel of the plastic protection on that card...this is where the deal is...but with those RTX performance numbers i can see 1080ti prices rise a little bit now that we know it's as fast/faster than RTX 2080.
