Is bubble wrap anti static

Khoomn

I just recently sold my GTX 950 and don't have the original box or anti static bag it came in, can I ship the gpu in a cardboard box full of bubble wrap to keep it from getting damaged? I have regular small bubble wrap and i have 3 big bubbles

Technically, not completely. What I would recommend is wrapping it in printer or copy paper first, then bubble wrap. The paper is non conductive so it will not will not allow static shock to pass through.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

No bubble wrap is not. You can get anti static bubble wrap but it's coloured pink.

Yes, though that only gives isolation.  Proper anti static bags have a conductive film that allows (nearly) continuous grounding of the exterior.  This prevents the build up, and eventual discharge, of a static charge from or onto the exterior of the bag (thus protecting the contents).

For what you're doing the paper will mostly work if the wrap job is thorough and there are no gaps, but you can usually find anti-static bags at places like Staples if you're really concerned.

I’d get anti static bag and charge the customer in shipping & handling fees.

Non-conductive isn't same as anti-static. Paper can have static on surface (so can actual anti-static bags too).

It's pretty hard to kill a graphics card with a static shock. So while I wouldn't worry about that too much, I'd definitely strive to get the proper packing materials.

Antistatic bags are cheap. You knew you were selling the card, it's entirely up to you to have the proper shipping materials.

After I posted this post, I found an anti static bag in my basement inside a, what my dad told me, 20 year old router box that fit perfectly on my gpu and sent it in that. The box for the router had never been opened before I think, everything was in there not touched
