So stabbings are more likely than gunshot wounds. The point still stands, you cannot rely on laws and law enforcement to keep you safe 100% of the time.

 

In terms of reality (in any location) you can only rely on yourself to at least attempt to keep you safe, 100% of the time. You can do so better, when equipped with a projectile weapon, at least better than unarmed or a melee weapon.

 

When you and the people you love have seconds to live, the police are just minutes away. Assuming someone can call them before being rendered unable to do so.

Toronto and the area I live tend to disagree with that... while most are criminal v criminal there is almost one person a week killed/seriously injured who isn't one...
