RTX 2080 bench beats 1080ti..

mikedrewsmy

Take it with a grain of salt. But if this is true, we're basically looking at 2080 as an overclocked 1080Ti with additional RT cores.
Bench source : https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/4293425/spy/4251750
Pricing is almost the same as 1080Ti in Malaysia for the 2080.

I don't get it. It says 1080.

Edit: Nvm, I'm stupid. It's the generic VGA that's supposed to be the 2080 right?

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

Yes. Assumed to be 2080 for it's specs.

what the heck!!! Memory bus 7000? This is insane. Thats like there is zero bottleneck between the storage and the graphic processor. but the framerates are disappointing. Less than 10% improvement.

Because it's a 2080 not 2080ti.

Previous iterations are the same.

Like how the 1070 benches almost the same as 980.

At least we get extra separate power to run RTX with it.

It doses beat it but not by enough to upgrade from a GTX 1080 ti.

I upgraded my GTX 980 ti to a GTX 1080. It gave me 15 to 20fps. That is what I needed to go from a 16:9 1440 monitor to a 21:9 1440 monitor & keep the same frame rate.

When I upgraded my other GTX 980 ti to a GTX 1080 ti it almost doubled the frame rate at 4k resolution.

I need more than that to justify the price of a GTX 2080 ti.

This could be an opportunity for AMD. If they can make a brute force card that could run a 1080 240hz monitor, 1440 165hz monitor & a 4k 120hz monitor for under $800 they will win.

I like pretty but I need my frame rate.

Who knows maybe RTX 2080 is already overclocked ?

My two cents GTX 1080Ti will knock out cold RTX 2080 in terms of price/performance ratio and that is not even questionable. Turing line is the worst price/performance performing cards in GPU history ever nobody shold buy them for that price.

Costs like a maybach but performs like a true sh*t!

Exactly.

NVIDIA is trying to sell us something .. we don't really need.

I don't want hyper realistic games, while games like GTA V are amazing to play it more real then that isn't needed for me.

Playing The Sims 3 a game over 8 years old now feels right, it looks detailed enough and I can have a lot of fun without that extra smudge of light.

Sure, making Ray Tracing an industry standard shouldn't cost more.

And the performance incremental  seems exactly the same like from 9 series to 10 series.

Don't really care though since the 1080ti and the 2080 costs the same in Malaysia.

Buy 2nd bro, fren of mine got 1080 Ti Amp Extreme for RM2.3k. Still under factory warranty. Can buy 2 for a price of one 2080, just give me the 2nd card and you're golden.
