What would be great GPU and monitor upgrade? specs inside

mihailc

My current specs are:

Spoiler

CPU
    Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.20GHz    41 °C
RAM
    8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (9-9-9-27)
Motherboard
    ASRock B75M-GL R2.0 (CPUSocket)    26 °C
Graphics
    LG L194W(Analog) (1440x900@75Hz)
    2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (Gigabyte)    28 °C
Storage
465GB Crucial CT500MX500SSD1 ATA Device (SATA (SSD))
    Realtek High Definition Audio

So, GTX 660 kinda became lackluster and my display is a 10 years old model. Hence the decision to upgrade. Right now i'm deciding on which side to settle: Radeon or Nvidia - Based on that decision i'll choose Freesync or no-sync monitor(gsync is expensive). I want monitor no bigger that 25"(limited desk space). At least 75hz(preferably more) and va panel( or TN with REALLY good colors).

Budget is about 400-500€.

For price lookup you can use this local aggregator: https://www.salidzini.lv

TL;DR  Advise needed on best monitor+gpu combo at a 400euro budget

Thanks!

I personally use an Acer KG221Q monitor, it's 1080p 75Hz, AMD FreeSync, and is TN. I bought it for £90.

For graphics card, you could look into RX 570 or RX 580s to accompany a potential FreeSync monitor.

You can also buy any IPS 1080p 60Hz monitor and then overclock it to 75Hz. I think this is a better option than buying a 75Hz TN panel because most TN panels look terrible IMO. And for the GPU, you should get a RX 580 or a used GTX 980 Ti if you can find a good deal.
