Very poor FPS in CSGO Workshop maps

travismoritz

Hi, I have a bad pc that has a GTX 1050, 8gb ddr3, and an AMD FX-4300. In CSGO competitive matches I can usually run around 100-140 FPS, however in deathmatch it hovers around 60 fps, which I could understand being theres lots of people and shooting. However, in lots of workshop map, by myself in the server with maybe some bots, my pc struggles heavily only managing 40-60 fps. I understand that CSGO workshop maps are quite CPU-heavy, and I have a bad CPU, but I definitely should get better than 40 fps right?

Overclock that cpu. Also fps in csgo depend on bots/characters in a game and amount of models in a map. Try turning aa up a bit. Also what resolution do you play it?

Issue is with CSGO, in MM you are on Valve servers. In workshop maps, whoever starts the game runs the server, so if you are the host (the one who selects the map) you will lag because your CPU is limiting.

Me at the Apple store: "So how fast is this little macbook?"

Apple employee: "Cheetah Fast. Lightning Fast. It's Really, really, fast."

1920x1080 16:9. Also wouldnt anti-aliasing hurt my frames when it goes up?

It puts some of the load to the gpu so less on the cpu.Might help with get higher frames. Also enable multi core rendering

You have to optimise maps for FPS, which people skip because it takes time. Also the CPU is a bottleneck.

That's an F in the profile pic

Workshop maps are made by players. They likely don’t know how to properly optimize maps.
