Take a look at local classifieds and buy a used card, maybe a 960 or something of the like

was playing rocket league and it turned off mid game, it noticed a glow in my pc and it was a spark. it tried to restart and sparked again then an inch flame appeared so i turned it off asap with a room smelling of burnt metal

Who is your card manufacturer? Even if out of warranty, it is possible they might do something to help you out here. I've had a lot of luck with EVGA helping me out just after a warranty was up, for example.
