Windows phone 930 any good

aezakmi

Hey I'm looking to buy my first smartphone since looks like my current one is about to die on me, I think it's the battery because it doesn't holds 100% charge anymore, only 33%, getting a replacement battery is impossible since production stopped around 2004... guess it was a matter of time :|

But I can buy a Nokia Windows Phone 930 that has Windows 10 on it but I'm wondering does this work like a computer? I mean can I install programs on it just like in my PC? I really know sh*t about mobile stuff, all I know is that Android is slow and bloated af and I'm trying to avoid it, and I'd need to sell several organs to be able to buy an iPhone so this one looks nice

I'm more of a PC guy so I only used my phone to call and send SMS, I'd like the battery to last at least a day without a recharge and also play music (mp3 and wma) so I ditch my mp3 player too

Price is ₲1.000.000 or 175 USD and the phone is new in its original packaging, comes with a leather case and a protection glass

old moto flip 380 served me for 15 years (RIP) since I was 10 yrs old lol, dropped it a hundred times and nothing ever happened to it and the best thing was that it had real sick LED light effects if you put it next to a speaker playing music

other models available are (from nokia) 635, 640, 820 and 950 being the last one more expensive because it has more storage

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

No, no you can't. Windows 10 Mobile is not the same as straight Windows 10.

Android is not that bad. Guessing you haven't used it in quite a while.

I wouldn't get a Windows phone at all honestly.

never tbh, I only know it because of friends that are always complaining about the phones being too slow even if they're those expensive samsungs galaxy ones

Don't pay $175.

kind of expensive I know but even at that price is cheap considering other phones prices

for a similar price I have these with android

  • Datsun D4000
  • Datsun D5000
  • Samsung J1 Mini Prime
  • TCL F5000

all with 1GB memory (except for the D4000 which has 512MB) and Android Version: 6.00

Not even close. Windows mobile pretty much died out.

i would get an Android phone, but please.. stay away from these ultra-cheap-shits.

If you really go for something like 1gb Ram, or even below low-tier trash like 512mb... ugh.. i wouldn't even wanna use that if you pay me money for that.

Also, you want to avoid too old Software on Android too.

Most cheap Xiaomi devices will be a 20 times better experience, than these pieces of pure Crap.

What'st he Price for a Xiaomi A1?

This is quite a beast for a fairly low price (160€ here in germany / europe).

It offers a very decent CPU/GPU, 32gb internal storage (64gb option), a whooping futureproof 4gb Ram (yes, you can notice it... Especially from something like 1gb or even 512mb, which i consider as basicly unuseably without heavy lags), and it's part of the "AndroidOne" programm - which is basicly a clean stock android directly from google, which is promised to deliver 2 years full version Updates, and 3 years Security Updates every Month.

This device is so good, that i wouldn't buy any Android, or any Smartphone below this, because even in 2-3 years it will deliver a solid experience.

If you can afford it, GET IT.

However: Please completely forget the idea of using any smatphone for 10-15 years. Since they are no longer "phones", but fully functional "Computers", they are way too complex - too old OS version can mean no compatibility to newer Apps, or critical Securityleaks not beeing fixed etc.

3-5 years is very fine, maybe 6 years. After that, it's highly time for a new one. Like i said, espeicially on Android, you want to keep your OS somewhat up to date, and not walk around online with a 8 year old OS version.

Xiami A2 Lite would also be a good choice if it's cheaper (it's just coming out, very new)

How much would you pay for those?

How much would you pay for a Motorola Moto G5(x)?

The new upcoming Xiaomi X2 (like a faster version of the A1), coming out very very soon, will also be a very good value.

somewhere between 280 (32GB) and 380 (64GB) Euro, looks pretty good tbh but the fact it has 3 cameras is pretty useless for me

that's enough, I don't want to get a new one every year, I get it, it's like using a Win 98 computer in 2018

How so? Are 3 cameras not enough? o.O

I mean, it can't be too much - there is no disadvantage having 2 cameras in the back, instead of 1. The second in this Phone is only there for the depth information - there is no law that forces you to use it. ^^

But well, what about a Nokia 6.1 (aka, Nokia 2018)? Has 1 camera in the back, also a very decent Android-One Device.
