Should I replace my 1070 with 1080ti?

Pavilion

would you replace your 1070 with a 1080 ti? is the upgrade worth it or should I stick with my 1070?

I have dual monitors setup one 4K monitor, and the other monitor is 1440p 165hz?

I have no issues with my GTX 1070, but since there is a lot of offers going on currently, I was thinking of selling my 1070 and get the 1080 ti?

If you want to play AAA titles on max or as close as max as possible, then yes, if you can afford it. But if you're having no issues, do you want to spend the money for little to no gain?

I have a 1070 with a 1440p 144Hz monitor and I wouldn't upgrade to a 1080 Ti. I can play most games on max settings for 1440p at 144Hz (granted I don't play any where near as much as I used to) and most importantly, I cannot afford a 1080 Ti.

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.

If you're having no issues why not just wait?

I replaced a 1070 for a 1080ti. Now i can do solid 4k 60fps, but  a little dissapointed in the performance to be honest. I would probably recommend waiting.

This is pretty much how I feel about my 1080TI, certain games I can run on max settings with 4x-8xAA at 1440p and still get 120-160FPS, other games like Ghost Recon and GTA V I had to turn several settings down to get rid of FPS dips and maintain 50-80FPS. Upgrading from a 550TI I just expected the 1080TI to handle modern titles better than it did. It definitely seems like someone running a 1440p monitor can benefit from waiting for better GPUs to come out if they want to run the highest graphics settings possible.

I'd wait till the 11 series come out. Ya know, some people will sell their ex-flagships while stores also lower prices in order to empty their warehouses of old stuff.

Actually, I play with my second monitor which is 1440p 165hz, and the 1070 is doing well, but as you said I think it's better to wait specially that these cards existed for a while now.

Yes, I do agree, but the issue is that the miners ruined all the Graphics cards with continuous mining 24/7, I hope when you buy a used card you don't run into a cryptocurrency one.

that made my day, thx. Now I know spending a lot more in hardware doesnt bring that much performance uplift for me :D

I'd reccomend just following the 1100 rumors and waiting for that once they actually announce the release date. The 1070 is still a very capable card and if you can just go a little while longer withiut maxing out 4k youll probably get more power for your dollar with the next gen cards

Yes.

If the prices is right.

Prices are coming down. The cards that I own are below msrp for the first time on Newegg(EVGA SC2).

When the GTX 1080 came out I got a great deal on a GTX 980 ti($240 less than msrp). I am hoping to do the same with the GTX 1080 ti.

We need more info on the GTX 1180. Too many roamers. Not enough facts. I am not buying unless there is a 35% boost in performance over the 1080 ti.

Prices for the GTX 1080 ti will probably be at their lowest when the GTX 1180 becomes official with specs & pricing. That is the time to make a decision.

Agree, I think the new 1180 should at least give more performance than the 1080ti. It should be a noticeable difference in the performance.

It's really not an issue. Those cards will be alive until you want to upgrade anyway...

Mining is actually a fairly light load

That's an F in the profile pic
