TL;DR:

90s kids including myself slowly losing an icon of a decade. Remaining Blockbusters finally closing down, if you were looking for a trip of nostalgia you better make a pilgrimage up to Bend, OR soon.

My Thoughts:

 

I miss Blockbuster, however they were able to survive in niche areas where internet was expensive or nostalgia was too strong. I remember renting several videos at once and then waking up early in the morning to return them as not to be charged more than one day of rental. A true trip of Nostalgia. It's finally the end of the Blockbuster name.

It's funny because I would love a video store now days as my internet is way too slow to stream 4K movies and if you do have that kind of internet it still looks like garbage

seriously though, I kinda think netflix is overrated having had it for the past 5 years at least.

Also what really killed the movie stores was redbox, then netflix. Redbox holds on because it gets movies sooner and tends to have a better selection than Netflix.

That and I guess blockbuster, but mostly movie gallery. There weren't too many hollywood videos here, some stores had kiosks for Hollywood video though.

Blockbuster built up a bad reputation in my State. Movie Gallery bought up Hollywood Video lol. I had a Hollywood Video around the corner from where I lived. Two actually. I got some of my PS2 and Gameboy advanced games there.
