hey guys, so apparently my local pc store doesnt have any corsair dominator rams available but they have g skill ram in stock

 

my question is what is the difference between trident Z ram and ripjaws ram?

 

i have an 8700k with z370 strix e gaming

 

which series would have a higher performance than the other?

Thinking about it RAM is RAM so the only real difference between them is the heatsink. Other than that just find one that matches the DRR, timing, and speed you're looking for.

Trident Z will look better, but in performance, pretty even.

So far as I can tell, the two are pretty identical with the exception of the color and the heat spreaders. Both are just fashion items.

whaa??? really? I agree with you on some points but I think you may be ill-informed.

1) heat spreaders are negligible (agreed)

2) rams itself are not very different (disagreed)

 

When companies select rams, they choose the ones that are able to overclock the most and slap a label on it. These rams go through rigorous testing before they are separated from the pack. They can OC higher at tighter timings. Ripjaws are not Trident Zs. Ripjaws are targeted for entry level enthusiasts whereas Trident Zs are for overclockers.
