Go to solution Solved by Bananasplit_00,

i dont think that supports a modern enough API to run Minecraft tbh thats probably the problem. try looking at games from around 2005?

hey,

i am currently messing around with an old nvidia 6200 256mb pcie. I want to run games on it but it doesn’t work (-:

games like minecraft etc won’t run at all.

Can you guys recommend me some games to test? (Ps. It’s not my main gpu btw)

I honestly wouldn't expect that GPU to do much more than run a display, maybe some retro games from the XP era.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

You need an XP system, anything newer than that won't work with drivers.

For games you need to look at late 90's, early 2000's.

Stuff like midtown madness 2, monstertruck madness 2, maybe NFS underground, GTA III, that's the stuff you want to try.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

That card is slower than the GT 210, and it's the 4th slowest card on userbench.  I don't think you're going to be playing many games that came out after 2004 tbh.

I know? but it’s fun to mess around with...

Minecraft will work okay on Intel IGPs from around 2007, which are still slightly slower than the 6200 lol.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Terrible, 4 fps on 1680x1050x60 and lowest settings (with low specs mods) and 640x480 ~ 30 fps

Run it with XP or Win 2k, Unreal Tournament and UT2004, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Carmageddon 1 & 2, Diablo 2, and perhaps TES 3 are all great games that would run on that system.

I've tried all of them! thank you it was really fun to play (-:
