shutting off sim card while out of country

I want to still use my galaxy S8 while in france for 2 weeks but i dont have the money for international charges is there a way to like cut of mobile data where i cant get calls or texts to increase my bill?

Airplane mode. If you just want to turn off data, then turn that off in settings. It's all in the settings menu, under cellular/mobile networks or similar.

I'm 80% confident that you can't even get phone access if you will on an international carrier unless you agree to make changes to your plan. However, you'll probably still get a text message about this (it won't count against your charges) when your phone connects.

 

If anything, you can also just get a pre-paid SIM card or whatnot either over there or wherever you're coming from.

so even if i turn on airplane mode i can and people try to text me i wont get them/ be charged? and with airplane mode can i still use hotel wifi?

Yes. Cellular networks are turned off.
