LTT For Bidness (Business)

Go to solution Solved by LinusTech,

We have a video coming very shortly on the behind the scenes server/ingest gear we use and our data flow process. Stay tuned :)

Hey guys
I was watching LTT and I was wondering if Linus and the crew had done in the past or were planning on doing tech and computer videos specifically targeted at small business owners. They show a lot of stuff about how they run LTT tech-wise, with the servers, editing rigs and whatnot; but it would be good to maybe see some videos where they do some tutorials and projects aimed at small businesses that use a lot of IT equipment. I run a small photography bidness, so using that as an example, a tutorial for pc building specifically targeted at photo and video workloads, smaller budget oriented raid setups, maybe even small tutorials for using programs that sponser LTT content, like freshbooks or whatever.

Idk, I just get sick of the RGB GAMER FORTNITE ULTIMATE RGB (FOR DOUBLE RGB) GAMERNESS stuff. I play a shit tonne of games, but I'm sure there's plenty of subscribers who also own businesses, or help run them.

Just a thought... what does the community think? And forgive me if this has been posted before, I didn't have time to check the 500,000 posts on this forum.

cheers

That's why the forum exists, so you can ask people help at setting a computer for specific needs... rather than come ask for a whole video for your need.

to be clear I'm not asking for a whole vid for my specific needs, I'm just saying I think more business-oriented videos would be nice.

I'm in on this with the OP. This should be made into a video. Would be much better than 90% of the content produced today from LTT>.>

As @Princess Cadence said, you can ask for help on this forum. In fact, a lot of people get advice from this forum if they're gonna build a PC for a very specific workload.

And even if Linus made a video for a PC build guide for photo editing, he can't make it for every possible budget. Your budget might not match with the budget Linus stays within.

And also business demands. Running a software development company is very different from running a store, different needs and people's technical knowledge, for example.

People have different budgets and therefore will be able to build PC with different components. There are a lot of experts on this forum who can make a part list for your needs and wants within your budget. Linus can't just make a one-fits-all type of PC because people have different budgets.

Yaaaaaaaasssss. The behind the scenes and server videos are my favourites. As well as the moving vlogs...any chance you need an even bigger space so we can get a new video??? :D

I'd also like to see more videos about server stuff and tutorials that could be useful for people running a small IT business.

But honestly.. I don't blame them for making videos that'll get the most views. RGB fortnite build videos get more views than ''how to make your server run cooler with no extra money spent'' or w/e :)

CPU: AMD 3800X GPU: GTX 1080 Ti RAM: (16GB) 2x Corsair 8gb DDR4 3200Mhz Drives: SanDisk 240GB SSD, Samsung 500GB SSD, WD 1TB HDD

There was video about building rig for their graphics designer. Made in LTT style ofc. But as I think we all have established, traditional build guides are nice once when something drastic has changed in overall process. And after that they are pretty boring. Show off parts, show how to do it and thats it.

The principles of building a PC stay the same.

Therefore, to make such a build interesting, they should differ quite a bit from each other. This can typically be achieved when drastic changes have occured in the overall process.

So I can follow your reasoning :)

Good examples would be SSDs mounted behind mobo, M.2 SSDs becoming mainstream, building in small form factor etc.

Indeed... playing with the trends that are "hot topic" at the moment and incorporate them in a build

no cash-in for L-man to do that.

Have you seen his titles lately, grasping for straws to cash in.

What type of things do you want him to do, like POS terminals to buy or what cashiers to buy, what inverntory programs to use. Its such a wide market, warehouses or storefronts.
