Newegg

JasonScorpio

Has anyone used newegg.com for pc parts? If so, was it a good experience (customer support, product warranty, return policy, shipping etc)

It seems to have pretty nice prices, and I am considering to use it to buy some budget pc parts.

I have also seen some coupons, which include free shipping, is that worldwide or USA only? (living in Greece)

Does anyone recommend the site over Amazon? Thanks :)

Newegg is pretty good. I've not personally used it, but a few of my friends have.

I don't have a preference between Newegg and Amazon personally, I like them both quite a bit.

Newegg is a good place to buy from i the US, I cant speak for other countries not knowing for certain but you can probably trust them. I doubt the free shipping to Greece on a lot of things but you never know.

import tax into Sweden/EU makes Newegg a horrible choice even though they have a Swedish site. they charge 2-3 times the price of the product in tax and shit to get it here and dont mention it untill right when you are about to lay down the money

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Nevermind guys, I just found out newegg has major custom problems here in the EU, you pay up to 80$ just for customs. As far as I can tell, newegg doesn't refund what you pay to customs.... pity....

If you are living outside of the US then stick with amazon.

their shipping fee is pretty high and I’ve had bad experience with returning a item.

NewEgg is a great store... if you live in the USA.

However, when you're from outside the US (especially Europe) then it simply does not make any sense using NewEgg to buy PC parts.

The import duties that are being used in the EU make it simply not worth it.

We Europeans - me at least - are better off using Amazon for example.

I am speaking from my own experience. I had the worst experience with Newegg every time i order something for my pc there's always something in their products. It's either broken or there's a missing part.

NewEgg is generally seen as a trustworthy PC components provider.

So it might be that you're really unlucky with your purchases? :)

That’s simply luck of the draw.

Although, off course that doesn’t help you much since you’re stuck with it.

However, their customer service should be good where you live, no? Including their return policy.

I haven't had any bad experiences with Newegg other than a maker, MSI, not honoring an RMA.  But, that's not Newegg's fault, and they gave me 20 bucks to spend on Newegg.

You got a $ 20 discount code simply because MSI did not honour your RMA request?

Newegg is pretty awesome. I've gotten $5 for when I made a mistake. I admitted it was my fault because I misunderstood a discount, and the woman I spoke to gave me $5 for customer satisfaction.

@charbel1011 That’s what I mean. I always hear a lot of good experiences from NewEgg customers, especially about their customer service.

@JoostinOnline although NewEgg delivers to Belgium (and the EU in general), it is not worth it to order from them due to the high import taxes. So we are stuck with Amazon, although they are also not that bad.

About 99% of the PC purchases I have made have been from Newegg. I know that some people have had issues with parts listed but not sold by Newegg, however, I have never had a bad experience. Anyone I talk to who is planning on building for the first time I recommend to Newegg.

Yup, because I followed all the steps.  MSI was just being MSI about it, and then eventually they caved when Newegg gave them shit for it.  xD So, I also got the 20 buck visa card.

I hear about people having bad experiences with MSI, but I sent them my broken motherboard (genius that I am, I decided not to use an antistatic wrist strap on Christmas night, when moving an inch causes an electrical storm) and they sent me a replacement back in a week.

To be honest, I try to avoid any MSI component as much as possible mainly due to this reason.

Due to all of the horror stories that I hear online (much more that ASUS and ECGA for example), I simply don't want to risk it.

Newegg shafted Hardocp back in 2013 and didn't support them because they thought a huge tech forum wasn't making them money, too much for a trustworthy PC components provider:

Well import taxes and fees makes buying anything outside EU pretty much a shitty deal for us Swedish people. Especially after the changes postnord made.. Thanks stupid people buying crap on wish. :(

I do realize that Amazon workers aren't happy and such, but Newegg isn't exactly a princess either.

newegg is good as a company and their policy is fine along with customer experience. Recently though their selection of products seems to be worsening along with their prices. I'd just shop between amazon and newegg and go with the better price.

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.
