Quickly looking through amazon.in

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B074ZDLGMK/?tag=pcp03-21 - cheapest thing i would get

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B015YEICJ2/?tag=pcp03-21 - a more expensive but nice option

some other options such as Focus Plus Gold, TXM, CXM x50, and SAMA Armor Gold may be available in other stores.

Among Antec VP650, Antec Edge 650 and Corsair VS650 for a build that includes Intel i7 8700K, Asus prime Z370A and GTX 1060 6GB in it.

You are buying a 8700K. You should have the money to buy a decent PSU. The CPU dies, the CPU dies. The PSU dies, most of the time it takes most of the system with it.

A simple PSU such as the EVGA SUPERnova G2 is more than enough, In my build I've had the same EVGA 600B power supply in my system for well over 5 years with times where the computer was on more than 100hrs at a time, Just don't go buying a cheapo $20 PSU and you'll be fine. Tip: If possible get a modular PSU it makes cable management 100x easier.

I'd consider the 600V a cheapo $20 PSU, as many times $25 PSU beat it and would be acceptable for a budget computer build.

The G2 is not available in many countries and is often way overpriced.

How come you can afford an 8700K and not a decent PSU?

An Corsair CX450M isn't amazingly expensive and can power your system fine but I also doubt that you need an 8700K and would probably be fine on a Ryzen 6 core or i5 8600K.

But you get the idea as long as you don't go taking PSU's out of junkyard PC's 9 times out of 10 you'll be perfectly fine.

never skimp on the psu. It is the most important part of your system. There is no need in buying a high end motherboard and cpu then powering it with a crap power supply. Corsair power supplies (the ones made by seasonic) are good, seasonic themselves are great. I wouldn't chose any other brands. Antec were great years ago until they did what corsair did and go with sub standard capacitors, Antec have corrected themselves but they still are not as good as they used to be.

Corsair has two Seasonic PSUs in their lineup,I think. The aging AX760 and AX860. They use mostly CWT and GW, some Flextronics in the high end.

Seasonic has crappy PSUs, just like any other company. And any company is equally capable of selling crap, and equally capable of selling good PSUs. I'd rather take an Aerocool Project 7 over an M12 II.

PSUs aren't just capacitors with a fan blowing over them. You want a good PSU first, then good capacitors. Not the other way around.

Yes I know CWT used to be the crappest of the crappest but they got a bit better, Antec and Corsair both did the keep the brand name but skimp on the quality thing. Seasonic has atleast been almost always in the top of the tier list for power supplies whilst corsair and antec havent, One brand that used to be really crap that is now good is superflower.

yeah but back in the day (Im talking about when the intel E8400s came out) every antec model was in Tier one then they started using CWT and FSP which were really rubbish at that time, then they realised their mistake and started making amends and then corsair did the same.

CWT builds to order.  If Antec or Corsair want an entry level PSU to hit a certain price point, they'll build it.  That doesn't make CWT themselves the "crappiest of the crappiest".

2 hours ago, greenbrucelee said:

When  was Superflower "really crap"???

Problem with Superflower is the lack of factory capacity and they only do final assembly using PCB-A built at other factories.  They also can't always do final assembly in house and have to contract out to a number of random China factories.  You get a Superflower product, you really don't know who built it.  They do have good engineering though.

1 hour ago, greenbrucelee said:

That is a complete bullshit statement.  The earliest Antec PSUs WERE Channel Well.  Where CWT ended up getting the bad reputation is when they used Fuhjyyu (read: crap) capacitors and a low RPM fan (causing them to overheat).  THIS WAS WELL OVER TEN YEARS AGO!!!!!

And, like CWT, FSP is build to order.  Antec wanted an entry level "Basiq series" to hit a price point, they got it.  There are some very good FSP products out there.  Always have been.  Unlike Seasonic and SuperFlower, FSP is an actual tier 1 (in the actual sense, not the bullshit "tier list" sense) factory that does everything in house and therefore maintain quality control.

Compare apples to apples for God's sake.  Corsair comes out with VS or Antec comes out with Basiq, both much cheaper than anything Super Flower or Seasonic has on the market, does not make the brand crap.  If someone is so stupid as to buy something because it says "Antec" or "Corsair" or whatever without doing proper research, they deserve what they get.

Furthermore, even if you do buy an entry level PSU from one of the "big brands", at least you know you'll get support and warranty if there's ever a problem, in nearly every country on the planet.  The same can't be said about the small boutique brands like Seasonic and SuperFlower.

CWT and FSP didn't have issues. Brands who order them to make bad PSUs have issues. That was JonnyGURU's point.
