Razer Phone Thoughts?

So another post, was wanting to know all of your thoughts on the Razer Phone. My contract for my iPhone 7 ends soon and i am looking for a new phone. The Razer Phone has always looked very good, i just wanted to get you guys' thoughts about it. Any other suggestions would be great

To sum it up simply a black brick, with impressive thermals, a 120hz screen, a large 4000mah battery, an impressive 8GB of RAM, no headphone jack, a sealed battery, a last gen flagship processor, and a horrible camera.

Or to put it simply in a market where the LG V20 was not still a viable option, and the Samsung Galaxy S9  did not exist it would be the phone I would aim to get.

 The S9's launcher is a bit more IOS user friendly, and it is running a processor from this gen, it has a stunningly beautiful Super AMOLED display, and it has a headphone jack, but it does lack the RAM or the screen refresh rate of the Razer Phone, on top of that the S9 has a glass back (another thing to break) versus the aluminum body of Razer's alternative, and the battery life of the Razerphone. Basically what do you plan to do with it and what do you like in a phone?

Well phone things, watching YouTube videos, taking Snapchats, the occasional picture, phone calls, listening to music and that sort of stuff. I am also very clumsy and have dropped my phone many times so a glass back wouldn't be perfect, although you can get cases. The screen and the battery appeal most, just cuz i use it a lot in the day, and i am usually using a VPN which i have noticed drains the battery of my 7 significantly. Also it just looks sexy. But that's my opinion.

Nah I would stay away. It seems like a dead end to me. I would get an iPhone X or Samsung S9 honestly

(sorry I need to ask such an invasive question) How likely is your phone to come in contact with water? And how willing are you to explore the capabilities of the Android OS?

I leave a lot of apps open, because i forget. I game a couple of times a week, the odd game of PUBG Mobile. Screen is on a lot, just use of Instagram, Snapchat and whatnot. Sure if the case protects it well then yeah absolutel. I use a lot of YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram and Netflix, probably four or five hours a day. My iPhone 7 gets in contact with water a lot, but that's because it's waterproof, I know the Razer Phone isn't, so i know i'd have to be more careful. I'm fine with learning Android, even though i've used IOS for years. Thanks for the reply, Max

I'd get an iPhone 8 Plus if you could. Or an iPhone X.

Unless you play a lot of Android game at over 100fps, I see no compelling reason even to consider this pricey brick.

Sounds like that phone is a good match for you, lack of waterproofing aside. One of the Razer phone's key features is it's RAM, which allows for large games, and a ton of apps to run in the background, it also has a rather large battery allowing it to power your demanding use of the device, that 120hz screen allows in for the launcher, and other functions to feel snappier. The upsides with the S9 is Samsung's refined and somewhat Apple like launcher, it's out of the box water resistance, it also has a faster processor, and a beautiful super AMOLED screen, and a more refined ecosystem built by the number one smartphone company in the world. But, if your use case is as you stated the Razer phone may just be the phone for you. One way or another I hope you find the phone that is best for you! :)

who cares about Gaming.

Scrolling with 120 Hz instead of 60? You don't need Gaming to benefit from 120 Hz.

Just like you don't need 144 fps in Games to benefit from an 144 Hz monitor.

 

Got the iPad Pro with 120 Hz screen. NEVER ever again back to that stuttery 60 Hz mess.

So this is indeed a serious killerfeature over every other android device.
