Gigabyte 1060 overclock on 400W PSU?

Hi guys!

 

A Windforce GTX1060 3GB recommended a 400W PSU to run

 

I planned on using a Corsair VS400(white sticker) to powet it, but I still want to squeeze i little bit of power from that bad boy

 

I found out that with the power consumption of the 1060 and a 3570 is around 230W on the +12V rail, which is about 60% the load of the VS400. 

 

Can I get little faster with ~+100 on the core and +500 on the mem with that PSU. Thanks!

The PSU quality pretty much suck. Wattage shouldn't be a problem

I think, 500 W will be safe for you, else if your mother board........ I am not responseble :P

I did +220 Core / +1000 Memory on my MSI 1060 6GB Armor OCV1. When I had my EVGA 430W 80 PSU. Ran that for 8months till I upgraded. To a $68 EVGA 650W GQ80+ Modular.

My i7-8700k overclocked and GTX 1080 overclocked PC + Monitor (27" LED 165 Hz) + Speaker System under full gaming load only draws around 355 Watts from the wall.

 

The VS lineup is pretty "Eh" quality from what i hear, but i think you will definitely have enough watts/amps @ 12V in order to overclock the 1060.

If you already have the PSU, try it out and see what happens.  If you haven't purchased the PSU, consider something a little better.
