Posted May 6, 2018 I'm finishing up a build and I need a graphics solution. Seeing the state that the GPU market is (still) in, I decided to head over to the used market. I managed to talk a 1070 to $350. Is this worth it? I don't know much about the used market.
 Posted May 6, 2018 Depends on how long it was used for and for what purposes. If it wasn't manually overclocked and was only used for gaming then its fine. If it was used for mining, then I would be a little careful. Posted May 6, 2018 From a quick glossing over Google Shopping, eBay, and Amazon, it seems to be that the usual asking price for a new GTX 1070 is 450-500 USD. Since you got yours for 350 USD, I can only see it as a good deal if it's lightly-to-moderately used, and hasn't been pinned (stressed considerably in a way that can decrease performance or lifespan). I'd say that you may have gotten a good deal as long as it's advertised as an item: that the seller has swapped out for a better card that hasn't been used very long in general - a few months at most
 I'd take that all day long. Even if it was mined on, the card *SHOULD* last longer than it's usable life anyways (by the time it dies you'll likely have replaced it already due to performance issues) Main System: EVGA GTX 1080 SC, i7 8700, 16GB DDR4 Corsair LPX 3000mhz CL15, Asus Z370 Prime A, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R5, 2TB Seagate Barracuda, 500gb Samsung 850 Evo Secondary System: EVGA GTX 780ti SC, i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz, 16gb DDR3 1600mhz, MSI Z77 G43, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R4, 3TB WD Caviar Blue, 250gb Samsung 850 Evo
 Posted May 8, 2018 Great card. Even if mined on, Linus did a video showing that Graphics Card wear isn't real if they've been using good ventilation and care. GO 'N GIT IT My profile picure is real. Posted May 8, 2018 That's what I paid for my 1080, so that's a good deal given the market. Should be fine aslong as it isn't one of those cheap plastic cooler versions.
