IPS vs TN for Gaming and Hentai

Right, so Im the classic person who watches Anime and games. Soooooooo IPS vs TN. Budget is around £100. I heard IPS is more expensive than TN or smthn like that.  This one has 75 hz but lower screen size but asus SHOULD be a bit more reliable cus of popularity i guess. 

 

Both are TN but if there are any IPS that are around £100 with 1 ms and a good sized screen with 60+hz that would be gucci to let me know

Don't buy a TN panel, your budget is high enough for an IPS panel which is gonna be much better in day to day use. My laptop has a TN panel and I hate it so much that I use an external display for my laptop.

Both of those links goes to the Asus one.

 

IPS has a lot better colors but for that price you probably can't find any but for normal usage and gaming TN panel should be just fine. I don't know what the other monitor is but that Asus seems to be okay for that price, and I wouldn't recommend going over 24" on a 1080p monitor.

VA? VA panels are somewhere inbetween and i really like mine at least, sharp blacks, decent reponse times and so on. TN is great if you want to play fast games, IPS if for slower pased games that dont require split second reactions pretty much

Well I do play Fortnite and Overwatch. Overwatch is pretty fast paced so I guess TN?

They don't exist. At best IPS is around 4 ms response time. That's one of its disadvantages.

There's no major difference for gaming in terms of response times in pixels.

Do you look straight at your monitor at pretty much all times? Then TN shouldn't be an issue. I personally prefer VA and IPS because I view my monitors from a slight angle.

Ah so IPS only allows 4ms, TN allows 1ms. IPS is slower in ms but offers better picture quality and viewing angles, but angles doesnt matter as I'll be staring it from front view. TN allows 1ms but sacrifices quality of picture a bit

Yes, I have my monitor straight on for gaming and watching stuff.

never done a side by side of that, think im on 5ms or something with my current monitor and i managed to play in the top teir Paladins teams no problems with it  games are more skill than equpment. the 1ms TN panel is probably a bit better but what really makes a difference is the frequency, 144Hz is really nice, honestly just going from 60 to 70 is a huge improvement even that so i would worry about the frequency more than the response times as long as they are 5ms or lower

The viewing angle bonus is always useful.

144hz TN displays are like $199, but you can get VA/IPS type panels at that price as well. Brands don't really matter, they all buy the panels from the same Chinese factories and put them in their own housings.

It should be worth noting that this is response time, not input lag. So you might have more motion blur.

Viewing angles shouldn't be an issue on a decent TN panel. At least I haven't had any problems with my TN panels on my multi-monitor setup.

Yeah, TN panels nowadays are pretty OK but I remember one of my old Acer panels had such horrible viewing angles that just slouching a bit in your chair would distort the color and shit.

How do you know how much Hz a monitor can be overclocked to? I was able to overclock my really old HP2010i from 60 to 65hz
