Apparently it's quite good.

Worth it is something only you can answer. It's a personal thing, just because others like it doesn't mean you will.

it's pretty worth the reviews it's getting. i just beat it the other day and i quite like it, but it has been a long time since i've played god of war games.

Oh and from what I hear, the new god of war seems to push the PS4 hard as many people playing that game complain about the noise the PS4 makes...

I just started and it seems pretty good. If you're expecting more of the same from old GoW, you'll probably be disappointed. Instead it has the common Sony feel that most of their PS4 games seem to have (Uncharted, Last of Us, Horizon, The Order) that is heavy narrative and graphics focused, often with an AI partner to banter with. If you're not a fan of the Sony style of games, then maybe ain't for you either.

 

My main criticism so far is that the camera is too zoomed in. It fine outside of combat. During combat I wished it pull back some you that you get a better view. To compensate, they put a bunch of little arrows surrounding Kratos (probably can turn that off) that point to each individual enemy. The color of the arrow indicate what the enemy is doing (about to attack melee or range). I find it silly.

 

I only finished the first chapter thus far so I'm not sure if this will grow into a big issue for me or not.

Its a pretty good game.  It took me a solid 3 days to play through the main story and I'm still working on the side quest and collecting items from time to time.  It does get a little monotonous after a while but the story is well worth a play through.  If you are on the fence about getting it I would say wait for a price drop and then pick it up.
