Best L desk for 3 monitor setup?

Ethan_Li

Hello, I want to have my monitors set up with the center one right on the bend of the L, then with 2 on either side of it. Most desks i've seen are too small to do this, and I dont really want to put 2 desks together because the seem would ruin the aesthetic.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

None of those have the setup in the corner like me and OP are looking for.

More easily summed up we want a diagonal keyboard tray in the corner.

Not cheap, takes a few hours to set up but I've had it for years and it's holding up great.

I second this recommendation, I use this desk with 3 27" monitors and have plenty of space left on my desk, with a cooler master HAF X sitting on top of the desk as well. Well worth the money, and you can regularly catch it on sale at Office Depot (100-150 USD off).

If you want the keyboard tray in the corner then just install one there. I personally hate keyboard trays and keep the keyboard on top of my desk and would just not install the included tray on those other desks.

something like that. You might even be able to relocate the included one elsewhere.

I think it feels fantastic without a keyboard tray, gives you ample mouse room.

You should just cut down a tree, mill it into some nice slab wood, custom make it however you want.

Edit... or maybe buy some nice slabwood, unless you can find a kiln to dry it.

I have a kiln, not big enough though....

generally i would recommend not to do a setup where you sit in a corner unless you have no other way.

Sitting for long period of time is already considered not the best for the back but especially not sitting infront of a straight desk makes it worse.

this is why in many places in the EU for example you will find laws for ergonomics in office jobs requiring to have a regular desk and not a corner workplace.

I'm not really looking for a sharp corner, more like a gradual curve. Attached is an insanely crude drawing of how I want it set up.

Thanks for recommending our keyboard mount!  That one's designed more for flat edges though, and may not extend enough for comfortable use in a sharp corner. :(

The monitor issue is easily solved with a triple monitor stand.  Just make sure your monitors have mounting holes in back, and you're good to go on that part at least!

I'm definitely set on a triple monitor mount. Which one do you reccommend? I kind of have a weird monitor setup (20.3", 24", 20.3") so it would probably need to be adjustable. Also getting the mount would solve the problem of needing a bigger L desk, because i wouldn't need room for 3 monitor stands.

Most triple monitor stands hold at least 24" monitors, so the sizes of your monitors will allow you plenty of flexibility.  We make a few triple monitor stands such as STAND-V003 and STAND-V003M (V003M temporarily out of stock), or if you're looking for something with some extra premium features, Mount-It's MI-2753 triple monitor stand looks like a nice option.  Other brands such as Ergotech and Planar also have some decent options available.

Thanks for the response! Just noticed you make a 4 monitor stand!! That's fucking sick, I'll be buying that the first chance I get. Got any coupon codes? :P

We also make a couple 6 monitor stands for people who basically want to merge their soul with the Matrix or Borg Collective. :)  We don't have any coupon codes, but you never know when a sale or special will come up!
