I am in the same boat as you. Pascal came out 2 years ago. Given the historic trend, I think Volta will come by Q3 this year. So instead of 1070ti I picked up a 1060. I will upgrade it when Volta comes out.

There are rumors that they announce a new line of gpu's in june/july and they will most likley skip volta and go straight to ampere

shall I buy a 1060 6gb for 1 year, or a gtx 1070 ti for 2 years. I have now a budget of 850 dollars, and in The summer I have 1000 for building a pc. But I want To buy The grapic card now becouse now are The prices low.

EVGA makes plenty of 1070ti so I  dont know what card you are talking about. Also, check 1080 prices.

 

Monitor resolution is also crucial for us to judge. 1080 144Hz is a lot less demanding than 4K 144Hz, for example.

If u have smth like old I3 or Amd  i see no point in upgrading to 1070ti or 1080 because of the bottleneck.There is just no logic i having good cpu and pair it with Gt 710 so that's why i think there is no point in upgrading to a very high end gaming GPU before u have something to back it up.
