MSI has generally be advised to stay away from with the Ryzen chipset as the BIOS is bad and the boards in general from all accounts seem to work poorly compared to others. Go with the ASUS board.

I agree. It took quite a few months before my X370 Gaming Pro Carbon was able to run the memory at 2933mhz, while others have been able to run this same set at 3200mhz for quite some time before.

While ram compatibility has come a long way with Ryzen, its still advised to check the Motherboard QVL list to 100% confirm.

The QVL list as mentioned is always a good place to start looking if you want to know what runs well.

You're generally going good if you get around 3000mhz memory with a timing around 15 - 16. Otherwise Samsung memory is a plus, but not every manufacturer mentions what they use (for most brands it can be either Samsung or SK Hynix and Crucial has Micron).

QVL list = qualified vendor list list = the new HDD drive? :P

Honestly, Asus, Gigabyte or Asrock before MSI imo, definitely with known working RAM at least 3000mhz, Vengeance should work great and should be on every manufacturer's QVL but doesn't hurt to verify

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB
