2400G build, no POST

Vishvas Sudarshan

This is my friend's build (I'm posting on behalf of him)

Specs: 2400G

AsRock A320M Pro 4

GSkill F4-2400C15D-8GRR (2 x 4GB)

Corsair CX650M

He just finished building it and there's no display on the monitor, Fans spin but the CPU fan acts weird, it cycles through low and high speeds

His motherboard was listed as "Ryzen 2000 series ready"

We tried reseating the RAM and trying one RAM stick in all four slots but no success

Any other troubleshooting steps ?

Thanks!

Tried plugging in the CPU cable again, still the same

And as for the mobo, I meant this " Ryzen 200 ready" https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157768&cm_re=asrock_a320m_pro_4-_-13-157-768-_-Product

Does the mouse optic light up red? If it dosn't, it's either a CPU or RAM problem, if it does then its the video connections.

I know what you are trying to say, and I know what I'm saying. These motherboards might not ship with Ryzen 2000 series compatible board from the factory

The Optical led doesn't light up, have only one stick in A2 (Second from CPU)

Then the cpu or ram is defect, maybe even the boot drive. Try reseting cmos.

Still the same, when it's powered on, the CPU fan slows down, power LED turns off, then it turns back on and fan spins up. This cycle continues. Does this indicate anything?

So the only way to test it is to put a 1st Gen CPU?
