What could be causing this?

HI guys,

 

So today I've been having trouble eating and I can't figure out whats causing it. Basically whenever I eat anything solid like rice or meat it gets stuck in my throat, I take a drink to help it go down but the food just comes up in saliva with the fluid I just drank. This started at lunch time when I took a first bite of a beef sandwich and now it's happened again at teatime just this time with rice, the thing is though I don't feel ill and don't feel like there is anything stuck in my throat to restrict the amount of food I can swallow at any given time. What could be causing this and what should I do to make it so that it doesn't happen again?

Either gunk in your throat, or just a dry throat. Try some tea with honey.

You have NHS so I suggest you go to the doctor and don’t self medicate

If you have trouble swallowing, your throat might be inflamed. This is not normal and you should consult a doctor ASAP as it could be an allergic reaction to something you ate, something like a badly treated cold, tonsillitis or even cancer.

Do not try to self medicate yourself on this.

I'd say you can try two things:

1. Chewing the food before swallowing it
2. Going to the doctor

probably a dry throat. drink more water.
