What is the best processor that supports ddr3 not ddr3L?

So I am going to billed a pc but with the high price on ddr4, I thought I might use ddr3 but most on use ddr3l or ddr4. So if you know a cheap option please help

I thought DDR3L was for laptops, and the difference was that it was 1.35v instead of 1.5v.

The price difference between ddr3 and ddr4 is small, don't limit your self to a older cpu by using ddr3.

nope, DDR3L is just low voltage DDR3 sticks (I got those in my current desktop), and OP: DDR3=DDR3L only difference is L sticks run on lower voltage.

DDR3L can be used on anything that supports DDR3. The other way around requires increasing voltage to the memory which cannot be done on most laptops but can be done on desktop motherboards.

 

The best CPU in terms of what? in terms of being cheap? In terms of being easy to find and buy? In terms of performance?

yes I do why I won't use ddr3l is because supporting motherboards are the amount of money I could use on ddr4

There are Z170 motherboards that support DDR3, so the fastest is actually 7700k.

Many laptops use normal ddr3(using one now) and many deskops use ddr3l. L is lower power not laptop.

DDR3L is just DDR3 low voltage. It's used in plenty of desktop systems, by no means exclusive to laptops.

I asked that question before, but actual users seems to just use standard 1.5V DDR3 without problems. Not sure if it affected lifespan.

Most laptops use DDR3L while most desktops use DDR3, but there are always exceptions. Hardware wise they are the same thing, just different voltage.

I would suggest getting an LGA 1155 Xeon, they're only about 60$ on ebay from what I could see.

They have some lower end Ryzen 5 performance for less money, but you'll almost have to buy used parts for it, and slower DDR3

id guess the IMC isnt too happy with that voltage, but it wouldnt be worse than putting 1.5V through some overclocked DDR4 sticks probably

I even used one, and this is on the OLD H61 chipset

 

Now for the OP, any DDR3 board is compatible with DDR3L, what you must careful is single or double sided ram, if the platform is too old from my experiences it won't detect the ram (for single sided), I don't know why, have no explanation for it.

I would really recomend upgrading ram and prob mobo along with it to i5 8600k but if you insist the fx 8350

Yeah, 8 cores might actually be pretty good soon if games start actually using multi-core.
