how long has it been since you sold the item? Did he open a case with eBay? When is the final date for that?

If he returned it after the last return date then you may get to keep your money, im not sure what the rules are for the buyer in that case.

It seems the buyer has a total of 30 days to make a claim. It has been like 31 days since you sold it, but the last day he can open a case with ebay is the 30th day so depending on the actual delivery date you would have a day or two max before he could make  a complaint.

And if he does open a case, you can plea your case to them if you open it over the refund request, and ebay can side in your favor. eBay did this for me.

Well your details are vague so how are we suppose to try and help when we don't know their reason...

Unless you can prove it worked before you sent it then I think you might have a slim chance at winning the case. Best to contact ebay about it.

Honestly, ive had so many problems with ebay because of 1 damn return

Ok i sold something on ebay, but then and the buyer wanted to send it back. So i tried to negotiate but then a case with ebay was filed so then i got inpatient then just said "accept the return"

So then the buyer was suppose to return it by some date and he didn't, until after the set date, so now im pissed and i also think im getting scammed because when i look at the return details and the tracking info, i get this

Spoiler

image.png.42d2d3e37fb5f76ca8ad93421a3ebb14.png

So i dont know what to do, i really honestly dont want to pay anyone because

A. my information about the case was very limited

B. 404 errors and page missing errors were VERY common when trying to resolve the issue

C. the case was supposed to get closed but didn't.

So i dont know what to do.

I have thought about just calling ebay.

Next time before you sell, ask for copy of their government issued ID. That way you can easily trace them down and bludgeon them to death with a baseball bat should they turn out to be scammer.

You sold him the item 31 days ago (when I made that reply), however i'm guessing it took 1-4 days to actually be delivered to him. eBay starts the 30 days limit after the actual delivery of the item.

All you need to do to complain is show ebay the buyer gave you a wrong tracking number and the item never arrived on time.

Calling eBay could be a quick way to get an answer. I've had good experience calling eBay. I actually once had someone "hack" (they hacked my email and used it to get into my ebay account, changed passwords and email) my eBay account and I called eBay at 11:30pm and they were extremely helpful and quick to get my account info reset back to 24 hours prior and to send recovery links to a new email. I had my account back in my control in under 15 minutes from the account being taken and my getting it back.

Take pictures of the item when it arrived back to you.

Contact eBay again and tell them the buyer is trying to scam you and use the Report Buyer feature.

This is probably your best bet.

Report the guy to Ebay, just explain to the people on the phone what has happened. If the first person isn't helpful, hang up and ring again and speak to someone new, it only takes someone to be having a bad day in order for them to not bother helping you. There is obviously something dodgy going on here...
