Am i being DDoS'ed ?

Almost everyday , some times , my ping all the sudden gets up to 800 ms . It only fixes if i unplug the router and plug it back again...

Could it be DDoS ?

What router do you have?

In lieu of that, if your router's firmware settings webpage has something resembling a traffic monitor and incoming traffic is relatively high even though you know you're not doing anything, then that might be an indication something is trying to flood your network.

So if you don't have a separate box that sits between your modem and computer, then your modem is a condo unit.

In any case, figure out how to access the firmware page (it's probably 192.168.1.1 in your browser) and see if it has some kind of traffix monitoring

ADSL is a protocol, not a router brand.

The thing you unplug and plug back in, what brand is it?

For a week now my internet's ping spikes up to 700 ms throughout the day several times, and most times i have to unplug and plug the modem/router but other times it remains cra,,py ... can someone tell me a solution maybe or a reason to why this happens ?

Could it be the PC i built recently ? The Wi-fi adapter , i use  Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I (Rev 4.2) ? I didnt download any drivers for it as it seemed to work anyway when i downloaded windows 10

My router is old from a company no one knows ( ADB broadband )

And it also overheats a lot.. like when i lift it up the router's bottom is like a phone left out in the sun for 1 hour...

It sounds like that router just needs to be replaced to me.

I have revision 1 of the same wireless adapter installed in my dad's computer without problems so I doubt that has anything to do with it.

You could try updating the drivers for it I guess.
