Tom Clancy's The Division will have PC Optimized version

JamieSinn

http://mp1st.com/2013/12/19/tom-clancys-division-will-full-fledged-optimized-pc-version/#.UrNuO2RDspA

In a recent Community Q&A with developer Massive, a user asked how the game “is going to look on PC?”

“As you know, Masssive has its roots in PC development,” the studio replied. “We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC. You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.”

Awesome news!

We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.

Why can't all game devs think like this.

“Snorting instant coffee is the best,” said Kayla Johns, 19, of Portland.

Honestly not surprised. Massive are the same devs that produced the grossly under-rated World In Conflict for PC a few years back.

I'll believe it when I see it. This hasn't been the first time a Ubisoft owned dev team has promised PC optimization; both AC3 and Black Flag had promises of a good port, and neither really delievered. Also, their E3 trailer didn't even include PC for release, which makes me wonder if they were originally even planning on a PC version. I guess we will see when it comes out, I'm hoping it won't be a let down.

IIRC they weren't. I believe someone made a petition on change.org and there was a huge push for people to put it on PC. I could be entirely wrong tho.

Edit: I found an article and the petition.

Despite this, I'm pessimistic since it is Ubisoft. At best, I will wait for reviews and word of mouth post-launch to decide if it's something I will touch. I will be busy playing Star Citizen at that time anyway.

But still, this may be the first game to break my Ubisoft boycott in 6 years, IF it gets an extremely high review acclaim.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

This is awesome, I hope it turns out great. I hated having to wait 2 months after future soldier was relesed just so it will look the same as it did on consoles... big let down.

You know, I bet they were planning on a PC release all along and just took advantage of the fact that people read way into them forgetting to mention it at reveal to drum up some publicity. Wouldn't be surprised.
