why is it i find gtx 900 series deals that are so OP in the used market. like wtf a 950 for 100-150$+?
while a 1050 i see seomthing like 90+ ish

they are.  the only way to get a used GPU for cheap is to snipe an ebay auction.

yes. but i just dont get the fact that a 1050 performs better than a 950 but a used 950's price is higher

Nah there's still local deals to be had if you look around.

Or you can buy a complete PC, sell off everything else, and come out ahead.

Depends on what you're looking for and what your used market looks like. I've seen GTX 980s and 970s for 150-200 on my listings, and a Titan X Pascal(2016) for 750.

 

In general, Kepler-based cards(GTX 700-series) are where price/performance sits right now.
