I need to find a DVD drive built like this. No belt, no worries. These Lite-on drives should outlive most retro ODD (this is my 52x drive with the fromt swapped) btw-48x has a dead motor and it has yellowed with the case.

Could swear I have a Philips and Sony built like that...

Is that IDE or SATA?  I think i got a couple of Liteon IDE drives kicking about somewhere

IDE. SATA is reserved for my 400GB RAID 0 array. And even then only SATA 1 drives work.

Pretty much I'll always have one of the high RPM CD drives in a build simply due to even 22x DVD drives topping out at 48x. Which is still slower than my 1998 LG - 50x CD-ROM. Yes that includes my current Ryzen rig.

Welp.. No pic yet i'm afraid but just wanna let you know i completed Super Mario Land 2 The Six Golden Coins last night on my Gameboy Pocket.  Went in to the last level with 30 lives ended up with just 8 left..I'd forgotten how hard some of these old Gameboy games could be XD.  Gonna pickup Super Mario Allstars + Super Mario World double cart soon to test out my SNES hooked up to my 14" Bush CRT

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

...just tried, bringing 1080p YT vid to this oldie is a torture...it does run 720p but painfully slow.

I can not believe about this.

I mean even all my cellphones run 1080 without issues.

I have a similar PC:

AMD Athlon64 x2 4600+ 2.4GHz

4GB DDR2 800MHz

MSI nVidia GeForce 9500GT 1GB

Haven't tested how YouTube runs on Win 7, but on Win XP SP3 it can play perfectly 1080p video from YouTube (tested in Chrome and Firefox) and the CPU sits at 50-60% usage even. Don't have a recent picture of it inside or running, but here's how it looks outside and the setup. Both Windows versions are on different 80GB SATA HDDs. The HDD that can be seen trough the hole in the front is a 500GB one and I use it as a backup (usually not plugged in when using the PC). The Win 7 install I use for testing HDDs/GPUs, but mainly HDDs in the front bay (the black one in the third 5.25" bay), can't remember what it was exactly called, I guess I'm too tired to think properly. Some day when I have time I can take a picture of the inside and it running.

Haven't done anything with it since the move last year so it's still packed up unfortunately.

4 GSM, yep! It's not running iOS 5 legit; rather I'm using the de rebus antiquis to trick iOS 7 iBoot into running iOS 5 iBoot to boot iOS 5.

bootROM/iBoot exploits are weird.

My 4 CDMA (on iOS 4 not downgraded with tricks since you can't) arrives today, can't wait for that!

Are the GSM and CDMA very different?

Very different. The CDMA 4 has no SIM slot, and uses the 4S's shell design just without a SIM holder.

It also ran iOS 4.2.5-4.2.10, while the GSM 4.3-4.3.5 instead.

They won't read, I have some work to do but they're rather good looking doorstops if worst comes to worst. 4gb Bigfoot, 3gb Fireball, 850mb Seagate (I'm pretty sure a few vintage Macs used this drive)

That Fireball contrasts nicely with the bigfoot.

Edit: Shame the drives are broken. I'd love to see their comparisons between my own old HDD (tested back in 2017 back when my PC had a 4790K):

I feel sorry that my Dad throw in garbage my good old Pentium I With turbo boost to 100MHz and compressed WD drive of 850 MB.

And me throw Amiga 500.

But here in my room is left this lovely rig from my profile pic.

If someone is insterested to see, I can post pics soon...

I think I even have P III in a car garage dunno yet if it is working or not...should!!

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

I have a database of disk benchmarks, you might like this. Not very detailed, but I have several IDE models from the 90s and 2000s tested. Smallest is 40gb though, so not quite that level

iPhone 4 CDMA is here!
It's a weird little iPhone. It looks like a 4S, but it's a 4 at heard with an A4, not an A5.

My model is running iOS 4.2.6, which means it was not updated ever in its entire lifetime (yes I know iOS 4.2.5 exists but that was only on a few prerelease models, when the 4 CDMA was released it ran 4.2.6). How I lucked out with this I don't know.

At the time it was locked to Verizon (and known as the Verizon iPhone), and so it won't activate as Verizon no longer activates phones without VoLTE.

It can play Fortnite, but not the Fortnite. On the scale of Fortnites, it's probably a 5/7. Why 7, you ask? That is the number of nites per fort.

So to answer your question, it can the fort night

Nope, the IPA of Fortnite no longer works.

I also don't have any games on it because iOS 4.2 doesn't have a Purchased tab, so I can't download older apps, and iTunes don't download them.

Amazing!
