$3300 Gaming laptop suggestions.

Hey everyone! Thanks I'm advance for the help!

So i am in the army and want a gaming laptop, i have budgeted no more than $3300. Used to be a huge fan of Pc stuff but i sold it all to have the money to move.

Im looking for something easily portable, with a gtx 1080, a high refresh rate screen and decently quiet fan volume.

I dont care about battery life as long as it is thin.

No smaller that a 15 inch screen

Hope yall can help me out! Would love yall bunches! Thank you.?

Man, I had a *great* suggestion, but the price was 3301$, which is over your budget, so that blows that idea...

(in all seriousness, have you looked into a 'lunchbox' PC? Best of both worlds)

I was looking at the Razer blade pro and the Asus Zephyrus but the Razer blade pro with the 1060 isnt powerful enough for me, and is too loud when at load. I woupd love to get the Zephyrus, bit some reviews scare me, sounds like a hit and miss product...thoughts?

Do not get the Razer Blade.Shitty QC and really long RMA time don't work that well.

The Zephyrus is okay though it has a paltry 1.5 hour battery life

Battery is not an issue, it will be plugged in almost all the time. You dont think i should be worried about some of the bad Zephyrus laptops with the dots and light leak?

A laptop (for a wide definition of laptop) with the expand-ability of a desktop.

Sure go for it then it's a really well designed laptop if it's plugged in?

Also portability wise how far are you carrying it.It might be better to get something a little bulkier but with a usable keyboard

Ive got a great pair of keyboard and mice that ive had for almost a decade. Lol. So you wouldn't be worried about getting one of the bad eggs with screen bleed and dots on the screen. Or even motherboard issues?

That's fine, the main advantage of the lunchbox PC is the abaily to add better cards, CPU, etc. They even make ones with dual LCDs

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

1080 and portability don't come together. The max you can go is 1080 Max-Q which is about the performance of 1070N, however laptops with 1080MQ are usually toaster. Even liquid metal repaste only helps in lowering hardware temps, fan noise and surface temps are still very high. 40dba fan noise claim is literally nonsense. Other thin laptops with 1060/1070MQ also have the same problem but not that severe. Get a bulky laptop with good cooling if you need max GPU power.

Also, no laptops with 1080 (yes, even the ones with good cooling) have decently quiet fan noise under load, even the lowest one is around 50dba under load.

If you have such budget, either go for Ultrabook+Gaming desktop or, desktop replacement laptops with good cooling like Clevo P775TM. Edit: Ultrabook+eGPU also an option
