Corsair 500D Build "Metal Ice"

Silentsoul

Parts are listed in my signature. Mostly all the same as my previous build. Was time for a case upgrade and when I saw the 500D "I had to have it" lol. Custom sleeved cables, and the Celcuis s36 round out what's new inside.

Let me know what you think, Criticism is welcome.

Ahh ok. Loving the Prime motherboard, way underrated IMO. Same VRM as the E Gaming, better looks IMO,  just missing front-panel 3.1 Gen2 but who gives a damn most cases have  3.0-A on the front, which is fast enough for me and most people.

Yeah the 500D has a front IO type C but I can't plug in in lol. =/ Next upgrade is probably the "9700k" or w/e they call it.

Yep. Hopefully, we'll get LGA 1151-v2 backwards compatibility (and therefore sketchy-but-functional LGA 1151-v1 compatibility) on that because UPGRADES

METAL ICE

I dig it!

Should have more blue rgb, blue should be the major color.

Yes all white cables, and blue and white alternating rgb with a steady light blue rgb, just a hint of it thats all.

Or think about blue hoses, with white mesh

I would definitely be down for that. I already had the ML pro white fans thought and didn't feel like dropping cash on rgb ones.

Super clean, very nice looking. I really like it. I wouldn't change anything, but I would maybe add to it...

Possibly some crystal-looking rocks glued into the case kind of like Luke's rocks build but with something more like crystal-clear thin, spikey quartz rocks to better bring out the "Metal Ice" Theme? Just a random thought...

Interesting thought. Haven't ever gone much "off the grid" like that lol. Would definitely look unique.

I think it would look pretty sick. Especially if they are clear or black to represent some kind of actual "Metal Ice" lol

Right. Well my next path is probably gonna be the "Z470 & 9700k" or whatever they call it. Planning on it being my first hardline build. Will mostly likely repurpose the same case. May have to get creative with a custom res and the primochill vue.

Im planning on the Primochill Vue myself in my future "Ultimate Ryzen" build scheduled for 2020-2021 when Zen 3 Architecture hits the market with that 7nm+ technology and Im planning on a dual GPU setup with custom rigid tubed water cooling.

I want to make mine look quite like JaysTwoCents Ultimate 1950X build using the Cougar Conquer or a similar style case with lots of angles, and will be painted gunmetal or black as well. The only thing I want to change is the way he did his bends. I dont want to kink and twist the tubing like he did. I would rather have smooth water flow for better performance with as many straight sections with clean 45° or 90° bends as possible.

I honestly think its my favorite build of all time!

Sounds stunning. Can't decide if wanna do any 90° bends or just run 90° fittings and have as many parallel lines as possible. Some builds I've seem with all fittings instead of bends looks even sharper to me.

I edited the last post ^ with the JaysTwoCents build video so you can get an idea of what twist tubing looks like.

Oh cool, well just so you know, holding off until 2020-2021 may be your best option as well. 9700K will be great and all but I feel like your 6700K is more than good enough. Plus Intel should be answering Zen 3 with a 7nm CPU of their own.

Lets not forget, 7nm is supposed to be the start of "Moore's Law" according to most tech enthusiasts, so building then will give you a machine that could last you a decade, maybe even two decades and keep up with what most of the enthusiast community is building.
