I mean a GPU is basically designed to be running 24/7 under a 100% load. It's designed to do calculations like this, the only differences between mining and gaming are that one renders frames and one happens less often.

No. Because a GPU has no moving parts in it. If it's kept cool and the voltage isn't excessive, then it'll run until the solder balls start to crack and wear.

There is one thing to consider. I'm pretty sure the majority of GPU miners significantly dial back the Power Limit on their cards. I think it's a common misconception that miners run their cards as hard as they can possibly go, but that's simply not true. It's more about efficiency and low temps. How low can the Power Limit be set to achieve the highest ratio of hashrate per watts used while maintaining reasonable temps?

 

When I gamed for hours on end, I craved the maximum FPS possible, thus I overclocked the hell out of my 1070, 112% TDP (190 watts). Now that I've begun mining instead of gaming, I find my personal preference is to set the limit to 82% (140 watts). My card's run in the high 50s to lower 60s.

 

I guess it's a matter of opinion, really. Which card would you choose? One ran hard for a few hours each day, or one ran conservatively 24/7.

I  mean technically speaking the GeForce cards aren't designed for 24/7 use only the server grade stuff like Quadros and Teslas are rated for 24/7 so they could explode but in reality it doesn't make a difference

A website that deals in mining and and only mining and only accepts no actual currency or payment methods other than what is stated, I'm pretty sure it was used for mining.

A wear and tear of any electrical component degrades its quality, a 24/7 one with maximum voltage does so even more. And more importantly, I refuse to give crypto-miners money. For all I care, their rigs can explode and I would not give a single care.

That's why I avoided cards that were mined with like the plague. It's like buying a used car that was a apart of a rental fleet due to how people treat rental cars. Mined gpu's are the abused rental cars of the used gpu market.

In a vehicle, cars with a lot of miles spent at highway speeds tend to incur less wear than those that accumulate miles inside the city. While engine wear is debatable, components such as brakes, clutches (both manual and automatic), steering, etc, tend to see reduced usage during extended highway travel. 

 

Not exactly comparable to a video card, with the exception that it is difficult to prove how the vehicle/card was used, or abused.

So i was able to get them on the phone. David, i believe. He said they dont take credit cards because they were victim of fraudulent purchases. It did take 4 phone calls and there wasnt even a message machine. But....anyone that has ran business in a high demand market know it gets hectic and no need to induce scaling if its too much work.
