Copyright markings. Starting that the the game name is a (R) registered trade mark or (TM) trade mark. Because someone owns it.

What is the difference between the two? What does being registered entitle them to?

EA has been doing this for a while.

Remember Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault and C&C First Decade to have such symbols in the installation directories.

Desktop: 7800x3d @ stock, 64gb ddr4 @ 6000, 3080Ti, x670 Asus Strix

TM is for unregistered trademarks. (R) is for registered ones. (R) has legal backing to it and you're not supposed to use (R)s if you didn't actually register the trademark.

I guess in practical terms, TM is just to discourage people from using the trademark in question but you can fight it out with the company if you want. (R) means you cannot use the trademark, period.
