Nah. Is the cpu behind? Sure but that doesnt mean you should buy a lower end gpu and have enough budget to buy some used older low end cpu.

Just send it with the gpu and crank the settings a bit since your cpu will only do like 60fps+ anyway in most new big games.

Good night/good morning. My gpu died and i send it to repair but it died again shortly after. I bought it used, so i prefer my gpu to be brand new. The gpu is a rtx3070, i spent all of my money in the gpu, i was going to upgrade my cpu in the future, but the plans changed since my gpu broke.

In 2025 or 2026, I will upgrade the CPU, because Win10 can no longer be updated. the maximum budget i have is $355
I need some help i choosing my gpu, the less money i spend the better so i can have a easier time saving money for my cpu. This are the choices. I don’t live in the us so the prices are marked up.

Asus rx6600xt $245
Gigabyte rx6650xt $268
Saphire Pulse rx6700xt $355
Rtx 3060 12gb $279
rtx 4060 $300

Specs:
CPU: Xeon e3-1270v3 (i7 4770)
CPU COOLER: Thermalright Assassin
GPU: MSI GT 710(ddr3)
RAM: 2x8gb Kingston Fury 1600mhz
STORAGE: 1tb Crucial MX500
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS H81M-K
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF2 ARGB 650watt

Thank You

6700xt. Its by far the best card of them all and pretty much a 3070 class card.

Best budget friendly option: 6650XT

Best maximum budget optiun 6700XT

Splitting your budget to upgrade your entire system might seem appealing, but given your current constraint, it’s better to focus on a strong GPU upgrade now. Modern GPUs will provide the most noticeable improvement in gaming performance. The CPU can be upgraded later when you have additional funds, particularly since you've planned this for 2025-20

Isn't it better if your not ray tracing?

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).
I'm learning video editing and trying to get some cash as a high school student.
I like F1, my favourite team is Scuderia Ferrari and favourite driver is Charles Leclerc. Favourite track is Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Playing with a 1080p 60hz monitor right now, hoping to upgrade to a 1440p 144hz one soon.

Living in AU and that pisses me off since every event is late at night or early in the morning (almost every F1 race starts around 11 PM AEST time)

I mean I would go flat out here. Do you reckon that by mid 2025 or early 2026 you will save enough to get a decent CPU?

It depends. Overall its a bit better than a 3070 and sometimes goes to 3070ti level.
