Corrosion on X370-F

Hey, so I just picked up my X370-F motherboard from the store and on the little Supreme FX square I've spotted a bit of what looks like rust or corrosion. Is this purely an aesthetic issue or could it be a sign of something worse?

Take it out of the bag it's hard to determine if it's just some marks or if it's rust.

If it's any kind of damage at all, I'd have simply asked for a different box. Why risk it?

I've gone over the rest of the board and I couldn't see anything. These "rust" spots are less than a millimetre squared and there's only 2 or three. I get the feeling it's just an aesthetic thing. Anyway my warranty covers it so I reckon I'll see how I go.

Eh, still, I'd just swap it out now before you have a much bigger headache to go through. Corrosion isn't a normal thing, and they may very well see it as user caused damage, denying any subsequent claims.

Ok, I'll give it a shot. MSY don't have a great reputation when it comes to returns though. I'll try return it this week.

If you have your receipt it shouldn't be too hard. If the CS person says no, ask to talk to a manager. If he says no, go for the store manager.

Once you go that high, you'll usually get what you want. Not necessarily because you're right, but because they don't want to deal with you

I managed to get a better photo of it this time. Kinda weird, cos it definitely isn't the colour of rust, but whatever it is it doesn't scratch off or anything.

I just want to be absolutely sure, becase the store is a long bus ride away from where I live, and their opening hours are constricting, to say the least.

That looks hideous. It's definitely a manufacturing defect. I can't see them giving you a hard time about that.
