Overclocking potential of GT 1030

Did you forget that the 1050 non ti was a thing?

This topic is quite old, back then 1050 was very expensive, but now it's a little cheaper. There's no reason to upgrade to 1050 right now at least for me. I'll wait to see the next gen GPUs.

Just stumbled across this thread while searching the OC capabilities of the gigabyte 1030. I've just purchased on to slam in an old optiplex 3020 as it's the only LP SS card worth buying.  It's seems Nvidia have been sneaky and silently released a ddr4 version of this card, which is a pure waste of cash.  It's due for delivery tomorrow so if anyone is interested I will post some before and after OC benchmarks......another reason I felt I had to comment was only to say that not everyone has the spare cash to buy 1080's or to buy a whole new system as the big cards won't fit in SFF rigs. If you are looking to game on a budget or run a 4k media centre and picked up a corporate SFF box on eBay for cheap this card is ideal! So many unhelpful posts ...

On a 1030, even the GDDR5 version, most of the gains from overclocking will come from the memory. I have a laptop with a MX150 (basically a mobile 1030) and I managed to get the memory from 6000Mhz effective, up to 8000Mhz. That was still only about 5 fps at most, but it's what you can expect.

Yea most of the gain is from the memory. I gain like 4 fps with only memory OC and also 2-3 from core overclock.

Absolutely right. I didn't have money for GTX 1050 back then, but I'm happy with my little GT 1030 :D I think it's not bad for $80 that i bought it. It was better buy than $200 GTX 1050 back then.

I found a Gigabyte Gt 1030 and I overclocked  it 100 MHz on top of Gigabytes "OC" mode, Im not 100% sure what the improvement is but I could push it more but I just dont want to worry about it.

Hello i bought palit gt 1030 and im looking go OC it. Can someony USING this gpu tell me his oc settings and how fps he gained? My gpu will arrive in two days :)

Hi, i know this is an old thread but i also own a gt 1030. I'm running an extra +290mhz on core clock an 480mhz on memory. i got an extra 10 fps in majority of titles.

It's annoying how people in this thread say the gt 1030's bad or overclocking is pointless etc. Mine still doesn't even get above 70 degrees celcius after the O/C.

I wish u luck!
