Why in hell are EarPods so expensive??!!

My sister loves Apple. I love Windows/Android. Alongside her iPhone 7 Plus she used the EarPods that came with it. She broke them.

 

Sooo, we had to buy her a new pair, because she likes the form factor, for the ear. And we go to the Apple Store in Mexico, and I wanted to throw up when they told me the proce of those crappy earphones. $699 MXN or around $34.99 US. WTF??!! Those are crappy earphones, they have low sound quality, endurance, the cable looks like it will break at any time, and they are 35 bucks!!! With $35 you an grab yourself an entry level Bose headset, a Sennheisser 202/205 II pair of cans or for earbuds, some AKG Y-Series Earbuds, such as the Y20/Y23. The price is sooo stupid. They should be 15-20 bucks at most. Also, we bought the 3.5mm variant for the sake of versatility, meaning we had to but the DAC dongle thing, which is 16-bit, looks like it will break and it was 10 bucks! WTF! Its an F ing dongle, it should be half the price.

 

Apple prices dongles and essential accessories on a stupid level. I had to let out my anger.

 

NOTE: EarPods, the crappy ones that come in the box NOT AirPods, the stupid, easy to break, dumb looking true wireless ones (those are like 150-200 bucks)

Should have gotten her a decent headset for that price. I was a lot like that a couple of years ago, but I started getting into Audiophlle stuff. Never have looked back since.

I finally am getting into audio and spent 200 dollars on a DAC and Headphones.

Never looking back.

(except for that I shoulda bought PC parts with that’s money...)

because they're the best non-plugs you can find in a store on this side of the globe, and they are actually pretty welll made.

besides, that way overkill carrying box they come in.. thats part of the price as well

 

not saying they're a good value, i'm saying that if you dont want plugs, and if you dont want to buy from china/ebay/amazon, you'll have a hard time finding something that matches.
