Win 7 Professional doesn't give me the opportunity to change language

Hi guys

 

As I'm facing a tricky problem here I need your help.

 

I'm from Austria so my language would be German. But my Win7 Professional which I installed with German language has the whole English interface and HUD. I can't download language packages from the windows update. The version is activated. I don't know anymore what to do.

see if you can upgrade it to windows 10 for free still and then try a language pack.

if you're windows 7 came from a torrent then yeah languages will be a luxury that you pretty much won't get.

It is a original disk and original code

In that case it might be so far out of date that it can download a language pack without being updated

try to download all the latest updates for Windows 7 and then download the desired language pack.

I'd update the os first , you got about 9 years of updates and service packs to add to windows 7 , or yeah just use windows 10 and maybe that'll fix it. 

 

When you initially install 7 it should give the option for german especially if the disk was bought in a german speaking country.

@Zerebratox, WIn7 PRO/Ultimate needs the language packs for you to be able to select it. You can choose to not install the language packs to save on disk capacity in windows updates, so as stated by others, run the Windows update and install the language packs, reboot and then try again.

This. It should be buried somewhere in the Language Settings.

 

On another note, upgrading to Windows 10 is no longer possible (not even with the assistive technologies bypass, as far as I know)

@Zerebratox, you can still update to WIn10 once the present Win7 OS is fully activated and legitimate....check it here

 

If he reserved it when it was a giveaway/free upgrade then he would still be eligible to get it at anytime.

Well there are no other language packs available and I can't download them in the win updates because there are no

10 is better in every way.

That's not the real question. Windows 7 is still supported, patched regularly, has better compatibility with older software, subjectively better overall UI and UX etc.
