The A has better VRMs if you want to overclock, but if you're running an i5 8400 then I guess that's not happening.

Why get a non-overclockable i5 instead of a Ryzen 5, just out of curiosity?

Ask @dave_k tho

The H has a 4+2 while the A has a real 6-phase Vcore so it's not as good as the A, but both are fine for a locked i5.

Because overclocking has never been an intention. I'm just scared by it.

There isn't much harm you can do as most, if not all, motherboards will just downclock the CPU to prevent it from being hurt if you set the voltage way too high. It's not hard to OC a Ryzen chip and is far less expensive than buying the non-K i5.

If it's your own money, a B350 Krait/Carbon and a Ryzen 5 1600. If it's not, then an 8400 and the Strix board.

If i get an AMD cpu will i notice any difference when gaming or otherwise?

And overclocking for me will be scary no matter what. It just feels like tweaking and trimming which i'm horrible at.

Certain games might like the marginal increase in single-threaded performance. Otherwise, you have twice as many threads at your disposal and you can always OC if you're hurting for performance.

edit: the store availible to me doesn't have a Krait. Only B-350 board it has is an Asus Prime b370-plus for about 90$

All i want is a chip that doesn't bottleneck my gtx1080 when playing AAA games at 60fps and aslong as the i5-8400 works i'll probably go for that.

So;

ASUS Prime Z370-A

or Rog strid z370-H Gaming?

i really don't need much detail why because that will probably confuse me even more. Just a solid answer. :)

60 FPS no matter the resolution will work with most chips released in the last 4 years. You're fine with an R5 1600 or 1700 and a 1080. What resolution are you playing at? A GTX 1080 is way, way overkill for 1080P 60FPS. A 1060 would do that more than fine for a lot less money.

As I've said about 5 times now, get a Ryzen 5. If, for some otherworldly reason you cannot get a Ryzen 5 chip, then get the i5 and the Strix. Actually, if you're forced to get the i5 then get the cheapest Z370 board you can since most of the features of a higher-end board aren't even relevant to you if you have a locked CPU.

The only ryzen 5 processors are 1500x, 1600, or 1600x. Any of them decent?

Could you also recommend a Motherboard fitting for a Ryzen?

All AM4 ATX cards availible to me are

-Asus PRIME B350-Plus

-MSI x370 gaming pro Carbon

-ASUS prime x370-a

I know that a gtx1080 is overkill for 1080p 60fps. But i was dumb enough to buy it a while back so now i got to suffer for my decitions.

All are fine. The 1600 makes the most sense for the money, the 1500X if you want to save some money. Note that the 1500X and 1600 come with CPU coolers in the box while the 1600X does not.

Any of those boards will be fine for that CPU and can give a decent OC if you ever choose to down the road.

Ah, well if you have it then go for it. You could definitely get a 144Hz monitor down the line if you want to as well.

the best b350 board is asrock pro4, I recommend the 1600, stock cooler, pro 4 with cl14 ddr3200 b-die ram (or just get gskill flare x)

if you already have a 1080, i recommend going the z370 prime-a motherboard with a i7 8700 with evo 212 cooler instead of ryzen.
