An Idea for nostalgia

I have an old copy of HL2 for my Xbox original, but it died out a long time ago. Is there some emulator I could get so when i put the disc into my disc drive, it would run it?

Yes, but it falls into a grey area so not sure I can link to anything, I'll just say google is your friend for finding emulators of any flavor

I think, since he already owns the game, he shouldn't have to pay extra to be able to play it on a different device. (So long as he & a friend aren't playing both simultaneously.)

Hopefully there's a way to run it off the disc, so he wouldn't have to get an extra copy.

If you're dead broke and plan to use an emulator, I'd hope you spent any money you did have on a good PC or the emulator will run poorly. I'll be much easier to just buy HL2 on a Steam sale and plug in an XBox controller to play it.
